Review:
Stessa impostazione dei
volumi precedenti, anche questo a una presentazione
interessante e completa, anche se molto sintetica,
dell'impiego operativo del velivolo nelle varie units
dell'aeronautica israeliana.
disegno in piu...

This is the third in
AD Graphics series on IAF aircraft, and as the title states, it is the
first part of a set looking at the transition from Mirage to Kfir. The
next parts will cover the Nesher, then the Kfir.
The title takes a look at each IAF squadron that operated the type,
with a page of text, colour reproductions of that unit's badge and a
representative photograph of one of their
Mirages. That fills the first ten pages, and then it is followed by a
list of notable dates and events relating to the Mirage's use by the
IAF, a three-view set of colour profiles of one machine and a chart
showing the various reconnaissance noses fitted to the type. The
penultimate section is B&W photographic coverage of the type, with a
nice selection of in-flight and on the ground photos. The final
section lists all Mirage IIIc kills and al available kits, decals and
accessories for the type. This is another useful little title from AD
and one that can be recommended to all IAF fans.

Amos
Dor, ancien plane captain clans I'Heyl Ha'Avir et cofondateur de
I'IPMS
De nombreuses photos in action (donc pas
toujours tres nettes) illustrent chaque partie.

Beginning with the
first deliveries in 1962 this book traces the combat history and use
of the Mirage IIICJ until its retirement from active IDF service some
20 years later. The 32 pages, plus 4-page card cover, are well
produced with plenty of well executed full colour illustrations but
mainly b&w photographs, and cover the four operational Mirage IIICJ
squadrons - 101 Sqn, 'First Jet' Sqn, 'Bat' Sqn and 'Negev' Sqn; an
in-depth list of notable dates and events involving the Mirage III;
the type's later use as a photo-reconnaissance machine with details
and profile drawings of the various nose shapes; Mirage combat 'kills'
table; 3-view camouflage pattern drawing;
FS colour chart, and recommended decals and kits.
The next two titles continue the 'Mirage theme' with the Nesher and
the Kfir, to be followed by IAF Light Helicopters and then the Mystere
IVA, Super Mystere and Sa'ar.
